Associate Professor in the Institute of English Studies at the Jagiellonian University. His academic interests include colonial rhetoric, stylometry and the literature of the American South. He was a visiting academic and a guest lecturer at Freie Universität in Berlin, Yale University, University of South Carolina, College of Charleston, Piedmont College, Salem State University, Queens University in Belfast, and Universita degli Studi di Padova. In 2020, Choiński was the recipient of senior Fulbright Fellowship at Yale University.
Choiński is the author of two books "The Rhetoric of the Revival", a monograph that came out in 2016 with Vandenhoeck & Ruprecht in New Developments in Jonathan Edwards Studies Series, and “Southern Hyperoles: Metafigurative Strategies of Narration”, a monograph that came out in 2020 with Louisiana State University Press in Southern Studies Series (https://lsupress.org/books/detail/southern-hyperboles). Choiński’s poems have been published in literary journals in US, Canada and the UK. His poetic pamphlet “Gifts Without Wrapping” came out with the Hedgehog Press in 2019 (https://www.hedgehogpress.co.uk/2019/09/27/autumn-books-michal-choinski).

Currently, he is lead researcher in a POB Heritage grant “Interdisciplinary Study of Trauma and Memory in American Literature”, which brings together representatives from The University of North Texas (USA), Freie Universität Berlin (GER), Salem State University (USA), Université de Picardie Jules Verne (FR) and the Jagiellonian University.
